Thanks for documenting this Mark. Knowing I couldn’t make it to the opening and hearing about it from a friend I immediately went into an anxious ramble hoping that someone would document it.
Looks like a lot of work. I think you are in a great spot Mark, being able to make whatever type of work you want in a city like Jacksonville, and not having to worry about a market or lack there of. Looks like you’ve been really busy. David seems to have shown similar work he showed in the Two Birds show last year. Is that the case? Good on ya mate. I need to get my gimp self over to see it before it comes down. Wish you could have figured out how to show your Marks Mashups as I’m sure you did to.
Did you get any good input from anyone at the opening?
HEY! SO great to hear from you Byron!
Yeah, you know people said nice things, nothing too substantial at an opening. You know how it is.
This was actually a collaborative project I did with David. He and I both brought in different materials (usually art and music related) and reponded to the space and each other’s moves. Some things like the mountain range and cards I had more input, and some things like the jeans he did, but we both worked together on everything to some degree.
Keep on healing and I cant wait to see the art that comes out of this from you. I predict another alter ego in the guise of an evil ER doctor!
Super cool Mark. Maybe you and I could schedule a time where I do a quick interview with you and David. Maybe take some photos of the show too. I’d love to.
