I think this might be easier for me if there were the old fashion thought bubbles on the graphic. Where or how would you like someone to give you the copy or text? What format?

  • valuistics (author) said:

Yeah, but on the paper ones I have distributed and gotten back I have seen some really original solutions to the thought bubble issue. I like that. You can get it back to me really any way, Byron. It’s more about process and less about the product when it comes to other peoples’ versions. Punched-out computer text or hand-written scrawl are A-OK.

A thought bubble or text bubble will determine the nature of the improvised dialogue. What if you want a frame to have no dialogue? One person who did this on paper had only two dialogue bubbles in the whole sequence.

The final project will involve paper versions, but I was interested in seeing what a band of renegade creatives would do with it.

First off the illustrations remind me of an amazing old school flash artist that i was enlightened by in the year 2000. Old school in web history but still going strong: http://www.hoogerbrugge.com/work/animation/

I’ll just go box by box. And this isn’t going to be intelligent at all. Sorry.

    First Image:
    I’m going to kill him.
    Yeah you’re dead.
    Now bro. Now. See ya.
    Pysche. I’m slick.
    Now you’re dead. Watch out.
    Oh No!

    Second Image:
I have the money. The mojo. The package.
    He’s got the mojo.
    He still has the mojo.
    We have the mojo.
    I’m happy now.
My mojo is getting jacked. You better run.

Just a side note. I’ve been watching the first season of “The Wire” each night and my writing is like I’m in the Pit selling smack. Sorry to not have more than that. Check out http://www.hoogerbrugge.com/work/animation/ though. You guys should collaborate maybe. Similar style.

    And The Wire kicks ass!!

I have heard The Wire is off the hook (pun). But alas, I am thoroughly invested in Battlestar Galactica (the new version) on Netflix. I am helpless to resist sexy Cylons.
