THIS IS SPARTA

I’ve been thinking a lot today about enemies and about how warrior cultures would have perceived their enemies.  I wonder if  a Viking or a Samurai would have been saddened, disappointed or dismayed if they knew what their enemies really thought about them?  I imagine it would not have affected them at all.  That they would have found the courage to drive on  and that this knowledge would only spur on more of their thirst for battle.  The battles I’m speaking of are not physical in nature but are intellectual and philosophical.  Yet they are real.  They are the kind of battles we take for granted as a luxurious byproduct of a slothful lazy culture.

So with that said I began to wonder who the 10 greatest warriors are in all of mankind’s history.  Here is what a short google search found as one man’s opinion.  May Globatron one day have the honor of joining their ranks even if only by virtue of our dogged digital determination.

Alexander the Great
Napoleon
Frederick the Great
Ghengis Khan
Gustavus Adolphus
Scipio Africanus
Julius Caesar
George S. Patton
Horatio Nelson
Leonidas of Sparta

I can’t expect everyone to understand what it’s like to have a terminal disease. I can’t expect everyone to know that what they do or don’t do through their actions define them forever. I can’t expect others to not be concerned with money, career or their reputation in the art world or any world.

I can only live for today as it is the only day I am sure that I have been granted. I want to be surrounded by warriors who are fearless. Who do not worry about what others feel or think of them if they know deep down inside that their intentions were good and just. Warriors that wake up in the morning and know that their battle is an eternal search for truth. The quest for finding truth or defining it is ever elusive and non-stop. Yet these warriors will continue to ask the same questions because this quest for knowledge is what has defined mankind forever and will continue to do so.

Yes mankind has raped, pillaged and plundered the world and its resources, but deep down inside at our core, mankind has an insatiable thirst for the answers to the questions we ask. Believing that seeking truth is not a worthy quest is accepting defeat. Defeat is not an option for someone who has already been given a death sentence.

I wish all of you well and invite you on Globatron’s journey to seek out the answers and to uncover corruption along the way. We joyfully accept our lack of knowledge. We joyfully accept our ignorance. But here at Globatron we believe that accepting one’s ignorance is the first step in the journey of gaining knowledge.

So with our swords sharpened, and shields in hand we will continue on as our journey is a just and noble one, not concerned with popularity or career building. We hope to find a few more warriors along the way willing to fight with us. But if it remains the small number that it currently is, we will be content knowing that the contributors on this site are true truth seekers and we have not chosen to cower before the very systems that have enslaved us all.

Thank you Akbar. Thank you Chris. An Army can rise from only a few.

And when going into battle it’s better to have a handful of real friends than an Army of impostors any day.

[…] As if we are passing the offering plate. I say we face ourselves. Take a good look in the mirror. We are Sparta for the West. We know war and that is what we do […]
