JaxCAL is going through drastic change just like everything. As much as JaxCAL has been striving to build a cohesive group it hasn’t been able to do so. JaxCAL has currently turned into a few main contributors posting. And that’s fine. Really. I enjoy this as do others. But with that said many have told me that they would like the ability to build a profile and submit information about themselves with photos, video, and music, similar to social networking systems like Facebook and MySpace. Until now that hasn’t been possible.

With the new site JaxCAL SPACE (space.globatron.org) all of this is now possible. We can use the new site to help build our local and regional art community. JaxCAL.org will continue on in the fashion that it is today, with a few main contributors and hopefully a growing group in the future who will provide artist interviews, post about events, post opening photos, so on and so forth.

But now we can also use JaxCAL SPACE to do the work behind the scenes that we need to do in order to build our community and to make our identities known. No more not knowing who’s posting or part of the JaxCAL community. Put your photos up. Write in your blog or in the forums. Post your favorite song or video. The interface is so intuitive I’m sure you will have no problem updating it as you see fit. It will only take you five minutes or so to update your profile.

I look forward to looking through JaxCAL SPACE here in a few weeks and reading all 79 registered JaxCAL user profiles. Thank you for growing this community.

Sincerely,

JaxCAL.org & SPACE.globatron.org
