JaxCAL Project Recap 12-29-07

30 December 2007 One Comment

A couple of folks showed up. Anthony (Tony) Aiuppy, George Cornwell and Morrison Pierce. We hugged. We kissed. We held hands. No really. Only talking was done. Morrison talked a bit about Art Basel and about all he had seen. Anthony gave me a memory card with photos of the Art Variety Show at Club TSI last night. Thanks Tony. I posted the photos today. The work in the tunnel area looks great. Wheat paste craziness.

We talked a bit about what we all thought about the Jax art scene. We all agreed that things are going well because at least we all know each other now or know of each other. Morrison stated that unless we have a building we can’t really do much. We all agreed. Morrison mentioned that folks are more interested in the alcohol at the shows than the art at the shows. I really thought the statement had some truth to it and wanted to video him a bit on the subject. Morrison thought Publix would be a good spot for the interview so we walked over to Publix and did the Jax Art Scene video below. If you get a chance fast forward to the end. I think we went a little long on it, but it has a good ending.

All in all I think it was productive as Tony gave me the photos for the TSI show and we actually made a little video. Tony said he was interested in interviewing Dustin Harewood. Looks like that could happen. Dustin work is very interesting. I definitely encourage others to do interviews. They are easy to do and good for all involved.

And that was the end of another JaxCAL Project meeting. This is exactly the type of actions we can take through these meetings. Bringing media we gather. Making art together. Planning for future JaxCAL coverage. Recap 12-29-07, over and out.

Cheers…. BK
