Thanks for putting this up Byron! Great pics here. Some of the artists shown here are David Lauderdale, Dustin Harewood, Joel Beaman, and me. I will try to find out the other artist names next week.

no problem Mark. you’re very welcome. if you want to send me a list of the artists names who did pieces I’ll edit the pics. I’ll add the names of the pieces even if you want.

Thanks for the pics Byron. Mark, did David L. do the baskets?

  • admin (author) said:

    Hey Zac.

The baskets were Mark’s. It was called Basket Ball I believe.

Dustin Harewood did the blue abstract paintings and the Red Portrait.

Joel Beaman did the black and white pin hole photos.

And I’m not sure but I think David Lauderdale did the color photos of the fair grounds. Sorry to not be more descriptive on the photos but I was in a bit of a hurry.

yep, David’s piece was the red white and blue painting with the guitar. He has two of them in the show. Nice juicy paintings.

Cool thanks B. Don’t know why I directed that at Mark?? Haven’t had coffee I guess.

Mark, When I saw the basket sculpture I knew it was yours. Brilliant, humorous. Very cool.

Hey Mark can you tell us a little more about the show or at least your basket sculptures? I always like to hear your take on things.

    Kurt

Thanks Brittni. The basket idea was something i had in the works for a while. I have more baskets but made the work fit the space. I also had another piece ready to show but the gallery was out of room. I thought using them complimented my works where i place “low”art materials (in this case basket weaving) in a high art context.

i plan to spend more time at the show next week and maybe i will have more to say. I was there briefly to install one morning and I had to teach during the opening.
