Awwww, Polly & Jef are finally being recognized for the fabulous people they are, the amazing house they live in and the wonderful art & animals they own (hi lupita & tina!). I knew they’d be famous one day. I agree with Kurt’s comment, they are some of my favorite people in Jax, too.

Byron, great job on the interview. You should definitely interview Doug next

jeff and polly are rich people they won the lottery they just don’t want anyone to know about it. and jeff is president of some foreign country and polly is a royal princess, and mp needs 50,000 dollars to make a movie…

These two are on a short list of the people I like the most around here. I just wish there were more people like them. I think it should be noted that these are not rich people, yet they have managed to have an inspiring art collection and house it in one of the great houses in Jacksonville. They prove that buying original art can be done.
Kudos, Jeff and Polly, Byron, and Henry Klutho.

if any one wants to see my work they no where they can go, jeff and polly have been the greatest collectors i have ever known, i wouldn’t be able to eat without them. they get the best prices on my paintings and they always come through in a clutch. and polly was in one of my films and jeff was my lighting guy and all around inspiration, i have something new for your home. great tour i am glad that you two were first in this series…

Thanks, Byron. We enjoyed it, too! Our motivations for buying local art are really pretty simple. First of all, we buy things we love, pieces that inspire, entertain, provoke and comfort us. And we feel strongly about supporting the local art scene because without one, this city would be virtually uninhabitable. Thanks to all the wonderful artists who enliven and enrich this place!

I thoroughly enjoyed our visit guys and although a few pieces from your collection I didn’t really care for (which is to be expected) the large majority of it is really great work. Kudos. You guys have pulled together a very impressive collection of mostly local art.

One thing we didn’t really get into with the interview was why do you collect art? What is your motivation? I’m sure there are many reasons but if you get time maybe you could list a couple of them to possibly inspire other collectors and to educate artists on some of those motivating factors.

Thanks so much. I really did enjoy it. What a beautiful home you have.
