I contacted my city councilman, Art Shad, nine months ago after doing this post about the park that was named after my father. I inquired about the possibility of the city actually doing something in that park (such as placing a park bench) since it’s currently a vacant lot. I was told that my inquiry was heard and that they would look into it. Here is an update many moons later on the progress. I’m excited.

Very kind of Tom at JaxScene to take a trip to the park and document the new park bench. Read the comments on the inside scoop on what we had to do to get the bench installed.
Looking forward to building a memorial web project now on http://www.mickeykingpark.com.
Great photos Tom.
