Unfortunately, I didn’t make it into Metro Park to see Obama. I didn’t feel too left out however, as some 8000 folks didn’t make it in either. The crowd was huge. Some estimates say upwards of 20000. This NY Times reporter said it was the largest crowd he’d seen since the DNC.

If I had taken two minutes to put my bike in my car I would have made it into Metro Park. Instead it seemed I saw more people that I knew who didn’t make it standing in the kids park catty corner to Metro Park. The energy was amazing.
I taped 18 minutes of his speech until it seemed to go into the typical stump speech that we’ve all heard. The first few minutes of it was original and topical material that mentioned the car bombing in Pakistan yesterday.
If Obama comes to your home town, get there early. It is an amazing sociological experiment to see for your own eyes all the different types of people Obama pulls to his rally’s. I believe it’s a testament of his ability to bring America back together and get us back on the right track and inspired for each of us to help rebuild this country.
