Socratic static Crackling thunder blunders…
this is not a loaded question. it is a serious one.
yet we are here, we truly are followers, followers of this experiment, participants, jailers and inmates.
what is missing is real purpose.
such things as art, culture, truth, ideas, expressive mediums, if anything this site and the need for content reveal the existential tension of the meaninglessness of these terms.
this is the tension that feeds the suicide bomber, the religious zealot, the knitting group.
but what about us, the isolated, downtrodden artists left over in a world of institutionalized music and entertainment, laugh tracks and britney spears on barbara walters. what are we? jedi knights?
the answer is not in more input, more comments, more posts. what kind of answer is that but blips in matrix?
eventually we will have to face the question. and i do not say this from a point of knowing, i too do not know, i too follow globatron, i honor his stubborn will to be, i too see there is truth in this journey, but i just don’t know if it has found it’s form yet. perhaps the answer is death, perhaps it is rather a courageous change of focus.
How am I not myself?
here’s a post, born out of the pain of our leader.
as he once said, ‘if you can’t stand the heat’, but what if the whole world is a kitchen and there are too many cooks?

For me, this has become my only art community. I’m cut off from the world as much as the next. Too much going on in real life to be a part of much anything else. Through globatron I have tried to connect the artists I know and respect.
I really think a post a week would be a very positive thing for the site to keep the momentum going.
I don’t think we need more post and more comments for the sake of posts and comments but I do think having a said deadline weekly to help one write or think, communicate with one’s own art community is a good thing.
My wife has been following a mega-blog by this writer Dooce who is a house mom. Her posts get thousands of comments daily. Case in point:
http://www.dooce.com/2008/09/04/and-boom
That was yesterday and it has 1436 comments already. I don’t think this site is trying to compete with such sites but to me it’s amazing reading the commentary on her blog. By the way it’s a great read the post above. I love commentary. That’s where the community part comes in.
I don’t see why a handful of talented artists can’t push through all of the confusion and work in life and sit down once a week and write shout outs to their world, friend, life’s philosophy. I can and will continue to. I am just hoping that you all are on board with me. We can all be cooks. This is your kitchen. I’m not globatron, you are. We all are.
This is not my election, it’s your election?
