Akbar Lightning will be protesting the new scanners to be used at American airports by organizing a group of fliers to take off their clothes while standing in line for security. If you are interested in participating, to protest the growing invasion of privacy, and the growing paranoid style of the social life, then contact me via email at [email protected] The plan is as follows: I will get at least 50 people, the more the merrier, to purchase cheap flights, like the occasional $69 flights that are offered, then we will show up and assume the same area in line for security, and once we are all there in line we will take off our clothes in order to show the security guards that we are not hiding anything. It is a protest that is, innately, non-violent, and it ‘exposes’ us as human beings, animals that have to live with one another, and shows the coldness and brutality of the machines that we have been submitting to for years. Afterall, we don’t even know if such scanning devices are a threat to our health. Invasion of our privacy is a ‘threat to my security.’ we have to get sensible, we have to find a way to create meaningful dialogue about safety, about the nature of terrorism, and about how to begin trusting each other and building a true community.
as an aside, this protest will be documented for publicity purposes, so if you are interested in the project but cannot participate, please help us by spreading the word. Also, participants in the project will earn honorary Apprenticeship Certificates from Globatron University.
