Akbar Raps – Flood

Flood

the confession echoes and rhymes and lets goes of…
talking geckos on the sedation box rocks getting off of…
betting futures speculations of a nation’s invisible handing off of…
letting grandchildren building backward gardens hungering for…
lumbering virtuality, relative calcified passions knocking on the door of…
love is not nearly as dearly found as fear faces us every day for…
two wars are not enough any more, to live is to shovel dirt for…
groveling in the grave, saving pennies in our pockets for…
passage through the pearly gates, st. peter’s a cartoon cut-out whore for…
to finish me off, an infinite jest blessing outside an infinite set of shelves in a universe conceived as a store..

now to think twice and bolster strength, skeptical is postured to…
the second coming of the drumming and the pounding of swords into…
a soapbox is built to hold soap for dirty hands that threw…
stones inside glass castles, and bulls in Chinese markets too…
see debt and disease and debauchery are real and I can feel them, can you?
I can steal nothing if nothing’s new, I can heal nothing when bleeding’s not a cue…
Acute copyright syndrome made King a product, and selling it to sue…
History as an idol, a golden calf worshipped by a beholden token few
Construction is now suction, the slapping backs of boys till their blue…
To an end, to a sending off of a ship that has sailed askew…

Tears are not the product of my years and what I’m aiming at…
It’s raining outside and that’s a fact I’m not dismissing that…
But lacking umbrella’s I have a set of sheets and a baseball bat…
I say it’s time to go outside and play in the muddy front yard and all that…
Metaphors are obvious and many would claim simplistic but when stacked…
Black becomes white, in tights running through jungles, I can attack back…
I have to exhibit, and limit in order to seduce the one’s who only enjoy a magic act…
And I can and I do, what I do, when I do it, I just can’t stop this feeling, looking back…
That saying it plain, like a lemonade stain on a white shirt, bothers me, but ack…
I got distracted and now re enacted I search my brain for the solution, tapping that…
The answer is the answer that we all know is arrived at…
By reaching out to, and them reaching back…

In summary it’s important to wrap a package with a bow, that’s called tact…
So here I go, I start departing and in doing so I laugh at…
My desire to come back, and to live again in what has just passed in that moment we just shared, where daring to dream we screamed out loud that… to be continued is what we want the crowd to hear at the funeral we will be the main guest at…

There’s just too much great content on here lately for me to give each post the credit that it deserves. With that said I see a style developing out of your music. The background voice is great to see carry over from the Globatron theme song.

The rap style is fast and direct. There is a pretty large genre I believe in rappers who deliver their words with speed. I’d be interested in seeing how fast the words can be delivered to possibly coincide with that genre.

As far as the content goes I see a Flood of words and lyrics possibly not directly related to each other. And I see experimentation at the heart of this. Akbar’s first rap, I hope of many to come. As I listen to it a few more times hopefully I’ll have more to add.

Off to read Logocentric’s latest post. Seems I’ll need some time to digest that in order to give any type of coherent response. Bravo!

Your rap strikes boldly and swiftly. I feel at once wounded and edified. I wanted to call you the master of rap, but your words have such power that it is possible that they spoke you instead of the other way around. Language is definitely your game, though you deal in paints and dance as well. Seriously, this is an impressive work, Mighty Akbar. I find it rich and playful, concise and purposeful. Evidence of the kind of mind that leaders like to consult but pray on their knees that many do not find clear and unified expression of.
